Luncheon: Future Transit Plans for San Antonio
Join us on November 20th for lunch and a discussion with Hope Andrade, one of the Tri-Chairs of ConnectSA , a nonprofit developing a proposed framework for a multimodal transportation plan for San Antonio and Bexar County. She is also the former Secretary of State (Texas), and former TxDot Commissioner.
Hope Andrade’s professional experience spans 30 years as a successful CEO, business leader, and government executive. She is an entrepreneur who created, grew, and profitably sold three high-growth companies, Hope brings to us a broad business perspective with particular expertise in the healthcare, transportation, workforce and economic development arenas.
Secretary Andrade’s service as Texas Secretary of State and Texas Workforce Commissioner helped establish her reputation as one of the State’s best advocates for bringing new businesses to Texas. Andrade served from 2003 – 2008 on the Texas Transportation Commission, rising to Chairwoman of the Commission. She has also served as both a VIA Trustee and just completed service as the Chair of VIA overseeing an era that brought energy and innovation to the transit authority.
Hope is currently a Partner with Go Rio Cruises overseeing the boat operations for our San Antonio River Walk. She is also Co-Founder of Andrade Van de Putte & Associates where she serves as Strategic Advisor.
And in 2018, Mayor Ron Nirenberg and Judge Nelson Wolff asked Secretary Andrade to join Secretary Henry Cisneros and Jane Macon in developing the first multi-modal transportation framework for San Antonio called ConnectSA.
